This training will provide a brief overview of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, with a particular focus on cultural humility and bias.
Learning Objectives:
Examine and increase self awareness to understand and address cultural/racial bias.
Explore the differences between cultural competency and cultural humility.
Strategies to reduce bias and promote positive cross-cultural interactions. -
Youth who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community are more likely to find themselves in an out-of-home placement due to parental rejection, bullying and mental health issues associated with those experiences. This training will provide an understanding of LGBTQ+ terminology, current trends, and best practices for creating safe and affirming spaces for these youth.

Poverty: Cycles of RiskThis training will allow participants to gain a deeper understanding of how poverty often reinforces other issues such as exposure to violence, complex trauma, homelessness, and substance misuse and how living in poverty can impact the most vulnerable families in communities we serve. Participants will explore their own attitudes and beliefs about poverty and the people who are identified as living in poverty.
