Bruce Astin was awarded the Bronze Volunteer of the Year award, but he's much more than a volunteer. Bruce has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate for 4 children who have experienced abuse or neglect, and goes above and beyond to be a mentor whether cases are open or closed. Bruce is also an adoptive father to 5 wonderful children.
His local CASA program (CASA of East Central Illinois) said this: "The children know they can count on Bruce when they need support or guidance… Bruce understands how these cases go and provides excellent advocacy because of it."
Thank you to Bruce, and the other 3,000+ volunteers like you who become trained advocates for youth with an open child abuse or neglect case in Illinois. Consider becoming a CASA Volunteer to make a lasting difference in a child's life: https://illinoiscasa.org/how-to-help/
