Youth & Gambling: What CASA Volunteers Need to Know

Wednesday, March 25, 2026
12:00 pm1:00 pm

Youth are increasingly exposed to gambling through online games, sports betting, and family activities—often without adults realizing it. In families experiencing stress or instability, gambling can further affect a child’s sense of safety and well-being.
This training is designed for CASA volunteers and focuses on awareness, observation, and advocacy—not diagnosis or intervention. Participants will learn how gambling may impact children and families, identify signs they may observe in CASA cases, and understand how to respond appropriately within their role.
This session emphasizes role clarity, boundaries, and trauma-informed practice, helping volunteers feel confident in documenting concerns and supporting referrals when needed.
