Identifying and Responding to Cases of Human Trafficking in Youth
This training will provide an in-depth overview of how the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center addresses cases of human trafficking, as well as potential indicators of exploitation. This training will look at the complex issue of human trafficking through the lens of the child welfare system and other vulnerable populations.
Participants will leave the training equipped with action steps to take if they have identified a potential minor victim of human trafficking. Participants will also have a greater understanding of:
-Protective factors that can prevent trafficking
-Implicit bias when working with youth and families
-Who to contact and services/resources available to survivors
-Gaps/Barriers to identification
