Advocacy Resources for Students with Different Abilities in the Special Education Environment
-
In order to help students with disabilities emerge stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic and more prepared for school and life it is critical for us to advocate for them by having the knowledge and tools to speak on their behalf and teach them self-advocacy tools. This page includes information, research, resources, and best practices on the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blindness, Deafness, Emotional Disturbance, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disability, Multiple Disabilities, Orthopedic Impairment, Other Health Impairment, Specific Learning Disability, Speech/Language Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Visual Impairment. Together we can help close the disproportionality and systemic gap faced by children with different abilities.
