YouthCare Training
This training provides a complete introduction to YouthCare HealthChoice Illinois. Which is the managed care organization responsible for administering Medicaid benefits for Illinois DCFS youth in care and former youth in care. YouthCare HealthChoice Illinois delivers comprehensive medical, behavioral health, dental, vision, and pharmacy services tailored to this population.
Participants will learn when and how youth are enrolled, including specific DCFS and HFS requirements. A detailed overview of care coordination will explain YouthCare’s model in which every member receives a dedicated care coordinator who supports provider connections, medication needs, and condition‑specific education. The training also highlights benefits and supportive services, including:
No‑cost medical, behavioral health, dental, vision, and pharmacy coverage at in-network providers
Free transportation to medical appointments
Rewards programs for completing preventive care activities
Telehealth options, including behavioral health services and remote access to in‑network providers
Participants will be shown how to locate in‑network providers, use the provider search tools, and navigate YouthCare’s telehealth resources. The session concludes with direct contact information for YouthCare Member Services and the Rapid Response Team.
