Wednesday, April 3, 2024
12:00 pm1:00 pm

Independent Nation is a course designed for supportive adults seeking to deepen their understanding of the unique challenges faced by teens and young adults aging out of foster care in today's complex world. Designed by an occupational therapy student, this course sheds light on the specific struggles encountered by youth aging out of foster care while emphasizing the importance of mentorship and positive role modeling to inspire confidence and self-esteem. It provides a unique lens on strategies to foster resilience, self-advocacy, and life skills essential for success in adulthood. We will explore local, state, and national resources that can equip teens with practical tools to empower them on their journey toward independence.
