Neurobiology of Trauma
In order to better respond to the difficulties victims face when reporting their sexual assault, a basic understanding of how the brain responds when a person is exposed to a traumatic situation is crucial. The biology of trauma is well documented and helps provide a framework for understanding of how the body responds during a traumatic event like a sexual assault.
