 ing complex trauma during childhood can impact development and have negati
 ve lifelong effects. We will discuss the definition of trauma\, including 
 both acute and complex trauma. We will learn how traumatic experience impa
 ct brain development in children and what that impact means for a child as
  they grow into adulthood. We will explore the ACES (Adverse Childhood Exp
 eriences) study and how that has influenced the movement to become more tr
 auma sensitive in working with children and families. At the conclusion of
  this section\, there is a brief discussion regarding addressing secondary
  trauma as well as the importance of building resiliency in children and f
