 standing of what sensory processing is\, its’ importance\, & what it means
  when a child has a dysfunctional sensory system. Participants will learn 
 the basics about the sensory motor loop\, the 8 senses in sensory processi
 ng\, the different types of dysfunction\, & how a dysfunctional sensory sy
 stem impacts children’s roles & routines both at home & in school. Partici
 pants will learn who can assist with sensory processing differences\, & wi
 ll be educated on “red flag” behaviors that when identified\, may indicate
  need for a referral to a specialist. Participants will also be given info
 rmation on play-based activities that help children grow healthy sensory s
 ystems\, but that do not replace skilled intervention\, in an effort to re
 duce modern day cultural facilitation of sensory dysfunction.\n\nObjective
 s:\n• Have a basic understanding of sensory processing is & the impact on 
 developing children\n• Be able to identify “red flags” of potential sensor
 y processing differences\n• Name the senses of sensory processing\n• Have 
 a basic understanding of the sensory motor loop\n• Describe activities to 
 help grow healthy sensory systems & support sensory differences
